A Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) is a physical and psychological assessment administered to assess an employee’s ability to safely undertake duties at the work place.

A range of physical and psychological tests, both standardised (measurable) and subjective (worker reported ability) are administered. A FCE assists in facilitating employees functional recovery, prevent further injury, determine the workers ability to perform the Inherent Requirements of their Job and participate in a Return to Work Plan or early intervention Care Plan.
